Helium
isoprime precisION
The system uses Helium as both a carrier gas and as a valve actuation gas. For valve actuation the helium is static, so the consumption of He during valve actuation is very low. The MOVPT injection valves require 50-55psi (~4bar) of gas to operate.
To prevent pressure breakthrough on the isoprime precisION MOVPT, the pressure can be tuned between 3-4bar. This is a variable setting, with most systems running at 4 bar (default pressure).
GC
The GC system requires 50-55psi (~4bar) compressed air to operate the Heart Cut Valve.
iso FLOW
The iso FLOW system requires 50-55 psi input. This input pressure is set at the same pressure as the IRMS helium gas input pressure
EA
EA system will require a dedicated supply of 1.25bar.
The effect of this is that there has to be up to three different supply pressures to cover EA and GC combinations. Any inlets supplied with an isoprime precisION will be supplied with a pressure regulator for each inlet. An example of the Helium supply setup is shown in Figure 3-1.
